So we got news that the Mac was saved, YEA, so of course that meant we needed some more craziness before the wedding. Luckily the semester started out great- 4 brand new classes for Kim and so far, some very wonderful (and talkative!) students. Kim's parents came in early in the week to hang out before the wedding. Everything was going great till Kim's mom ended up in the hospital. Seriously. Kidney stones that they couldn't get with the regular surgery. Or the second surgery. For a while it looked like she may not be able to make the wedding... But she did! Not the rehearsal, but in time for the wedding on Saturday. She mostly had to just hang out at the table, but we were so glad to have her there.
So with good news on the Mom front, there had to be something else. It's always that way. About 24 hours before the wedding, we got a call that the people performing the ceremony, one of the bridesmaids and several guests wouldn't be able to come due to a work conflict. To be honest, this lead to a pretty emotional afternoon. Lots of crying and yelling and generally feeling crappy. But again, Landon to the rescue. We were definitely sad to know that people we loved wouldn't be there, but also determined to make the best of it and still enjoy the wedding.
We prayed a lot during the day and the night before the wedding, mostly asking for patience and understanding. And that we would still be able to have an amazing weekend and enjoy our wedding. Those prayers were absolutely answered. We had a perfect wedding, and even more importantly, a great start to our marriage.
But the wedding details will be the next post.... ;)
Um, you don't have any pictures of Piper and Dakota on your blog. That seems vaguely wrong. Just sayin'.
